August 14, 2005 (Part 3)
Once in his office, I let Jess do all of the talking. She began to explain to him the events from the moment she first touched the Ouija board to the attack. By the expression on his face you could tell that he was displeased with our curiosity with the occult. But that shouldn’t come as a surprise. What did shock me was the fact that he did not seem surprised by the occurrences. I had expected him to attempt to dispel the events by attributing them to our imagination. He did not, he knew that this evil was very real and that good had to intervene. Father Vicks agreed to come and bless the house later that afternoon. Again the ride home was peaceful I began to wonder if what had happened to Jess Saturday morning was actually the culmination of events. Jess seemed to block the attack out her mind. Even when speaking with Father Vicks about it she showed no emotion. I was sure that she had emotionally blocked the incident out. One thing that always pissed me off about Jess was her uncanny ability to emotionally shut things down. I wasn’t mad this time, in fact I envied the fact that she could just “forget” about it.

At three o’ clock Father Vicks arrived at my house. We had no idea what the unholy forces would do once they felt the presence of God in the house. Father Vicks came in with an immediate look of befuddlement. The first thing he told us was the house felt peaceful. He could not sense any evil presence. Father Vicks went from room to room saying blessings. The blessings were said uninterrupted.

Father Vicks stayed for a little while after the blessings. I could tell by the change in his facial expressions and the content of his questions, he was no longer sure that something had infested my house. Father Vicks left at 5:30 without incident.

Whatever it was that resided in my house was lying dormant.
