We went to bed at around midnight after finishing up a movie. I was out like a light, my house hadn’t felt safe in a long time, but with Jess there I actually felt safe. I woke up at 2:58 in the morning to find the bed empty. I sprung up as if I were late for work. I rushed down the hall calling for Jess. I was stopped dead in my tracks by what I can only describe as an invisible wall. Jess was sitting in the living at the coffee table with the Ouija board in front of her. The lamp was giving of an eerie glow that mimicked flames dancing around her. I called out to her again. She never looked up. I could see her hands moving on the oracle. I recovered from the initial shock of seeing her with the board and made my way to living room. Once in the doorway I felt a sudden rush of nausea overwhelm me. Fighting back the urge to vomit, I reached out to her. There was no reaction when I placed my hand on her shoulder. I gently shook her and said “Jess”. It was almost like a spell was unbroken, she jumped, hitting the table with her knees, the oracle flew across the room. He knees began to bleed from the impact on the table. She looked up at me with a startled look and said “why didn’t you tell me?” I asked “what are you talking about, why you are messing with this damn Ouija board again?” as I helped her to her feet. She just gazed at me with a vacant stare as I walked her into the kitchen to take care of her knees.
Once in the kitchen she said softly “Mrs. Williamson woke me up
tonight.” She said that she was asleep and felt a tug on the comforter,
it was Mrs. Williamson and she motioned for Jess to follow her. Mrs.
Williamson led her to the living room, where the Ouija board was
already on the table. I was completely shell shocked. Jess went onto to
say that Mrs. Williamson was worried about me because I had gotten
myself involved in something that I would never get out of alive.
