June 21, 2005
Jess left to go back to school on June 20. We were unsuccessful in finding any information that may lead to the whereabouts of Mrs. Williamson’s daughter. All contact ceased after I apologized. It was almost as if the apology provided enough comfort for Mrs. Williamson to rest peacefully. I had this uneasy feeling that things weren’t that simple. Your life changes when you have a true encounter with something paranormal. If you are a skeptic, a touch from the unknown just disproves any theories that you may have had about the paranormal. As I have said earlier if you are a believer and you come face to face with something not of this earth that reassures you that your beliefs are not in vain. Either skeptic or believer a portion of innocence is lost when unearthly occurrences introduce themselves into your life.

Jess tried a few more times to contact Mrs. Williamson after the apology without success. I got the feeling by the change in her personality that she blamed me for the silence. She had become somewhat distant and cold. Several times I tried to talk to her about it but she would just tell me that she was bothered that Mrs. Williamson couldn’t rest.

We had a huge fight on the day she went back to school. It was over the Ouija board. She wanted to take the board back with her in hopes of regaining contact. I did not think this was a good idea. Jess had become consumed with this old lady and the board was the medium for the contact. There was just this feeling that it would engross her entire life. I was adamant about her not taking the board. She left that day without even saying goodbye.

That evening I tried frantically to call her. Her cell phone went to straight to voice mail. Jess’s home phone stayed busy all night. I assumed that she was still mad about the Ouija board. I thought that since her home phone was busy she had arrived home OK and that she was on the Internet trying to find out information about Mrs. Williamson’s family. Jess is stubborn and when she gets mad she usually refuses to talk to me. I thought I would just her cool down.

The next morning I tried to call her again. I was met with the same results, the cell phone went straight to voice mail and the home phone was busy. Normally, I just let these fights iron themselves out. This was different though. I had a sinking feeling this went much deeper than the Ouija board. From my readings, I was very familiar with possessions. I realized that this probably was not the case even though Jess showed early warning signs of being possessed. I thought it’s better to be safe than sorry. So, I decided that I would drive up to see her.

I packed and overnight bag and headed out the door. As soon as I stepped onto the front lawn my cell phone rang. It was Jess. She began fussing at me for not calling her last night to check on her and for not having my phone on. I stopped her and explained that I did call her. I told her “I called your cell and your home phone a hundred times”. She told me that when she called me, my cell phone went to voice mail and my home phone was busy. I said that it was a possibility that we were trying to call each other at the same time. That would explain the busy signals and voice mails. Deep down I knew that there was no way that we were trying to call each other every time at the same time. Something was trying to keep us from talking to each other. -William
